50th Anniversary Celebration
Saint Winifred Parish Community continues the Faith Journey that was started 50 years ago. To celebrate those 50 years, we have prayed together, reflected on our faith-filled missions, past and present and shared opportunities of fellowship. A Saint Winifred long time tradition of sharing meals from a Spaghetti Dinner to Saint Patrick's Day Dinner with a Sing-a-Long and stories told by Fr. J.T. O'Shea to a German Dinner and soon a Polish Dinner. A dinner at the LeMont Restaurant was held after the special Anniversary Mass celebrated by Bishop David Zubik in June. Our Annual Parish Picnic offered time to share food and create memories with a photo booth.
There were social events like the Pre-Lenten Polka Dance to a Card Party. A weekend was held with an evening of song and praise by David Haas, Lori True and Tom Franzak in November. The Parish Golf League reunited and offered a Golf Outing to families.
We could not celebrate without including those who have been a vital part of building Saint Winifred - the priests. Those who have served here at Saint Winifred were invited to celebrate with Bishop Zubik and at the monthly Holy Hours.
Our events are not over and you can still have a piece of Saint Winifred's Anniversary found in a Parish Cookbook; a wooden keepsake of our beautiful church; a pictorial directory all of which can be purchased.
November 6th, we will offer an Evening of Remembrance through song, prayer and pictures and the Mt. Lebanon Percussion Ensemble will offer their Christmas Show in December. Finally, a festive Mass will be held on December 8 at 7:00 pm. with a procession of the new painting of Saint Winifred to the O'Shea Chapel.
Happy Anniversary, Saint Winifred Parish!
