Music for Children and Teens


Cherub Choir

Age Group: Grades K-2
Rehearsals: Wednesday Evenings in December, 5:30-6:15 PM, Music Room

The Young Voices Choir is compromised of the young parishioners in Kindergarten through second grade that will join the Joyful Noise Choir at the Christmas Eve Mass. Rehearsals will begin in December and attendance is mandatory for participation at the Christmas Eve Liturgy. Music and a rehearsal CD will be given for home practice prior to these rehearsals. This group will sing their own songs as well as with Joyful Noise Choir as part of the prelude music and after Communion.


Joyful Noise Choir

Age Group: Grades 3-6
Rehearsals: Wednesday Evenings, 5:30-6:15 PM, Music Room

The Joyful Noise Choir is our primary youth choir that serves at various Masses throughout the year including Christmas Eve, First Holy Communion, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day. Rehearsals will be scheduled seasonally on Wednesday evenings in the Music Room. Those children that play in their school band or orchestra that have taken lessons for over two years are invited to play their instruments during our Masses together.



Teen Music Ministry

The Teen Music Ministry is growing and ongoing music opportunity for students in Grades 7-12. Junior and Senior Cantors along with various instrumental comprise this exciting component of our parish worship. They minister at select Sunday liturgies as well as special liturgies throughout the year. On occasions they may minister with One Voice or Living Spirit Rehearsals are scheduled on an "as needed" basis on Sundays following the 10:30 AM Liturgy.


Teen Cantors

Students in Grades 6-12 have the opportunity to serve in the Ministry of Cantor throughout the year. All students must be interviewed and approved by the Minister of Music. A list of Cantor duties and requirements will be provided upon request. Junior Cantors (Grades 6-8) and Senior Cantors (Grades 9-12) make up the program. Junior Cantors must sing with a Senior Cantor or as part of a small group. Senior Cantors may lead the worship on their own. Rehearsals are coordinated and scheduled with the Director of Music.


Teen Instrumentalists

Students that currently are involved in music lessons in their school may utilize their time, talent, and treasure as an instumentalist for liturgies. Students must have at least four years of private instruction and be currently enrolled in at least one ensemble in their school such as concert band, orchestra, or marching band. The instrumentalist have the opportunity to play individually or in a group for a Sunday or seasonal liturgies at the approval and discretion of the Minister of Music. Rehearsals are held on an "as needed" basis.
