Saint Winifred Faith Formation program is a family-based process for supporting, encouraging and offering the tools for parents to effectively hand on our Catholic faith to their children. Recognizing that parents are the primary but not the only catechist in a child’s life, our parish seeks to partner with parents in the spiritual formation of their children and young people.
Monthly gatherings are held for children in grades Kindergarten through six where they join their peers in grade level settings. These children also return for another peer session during each month. During one monthly gathering parents remain in Benedict Hall for an Adult Faith Formation session. Various topics are discussed which strive to support parents in their mission as Catholic evangelizers to their children. Our program uses the Our Sunday Visitor text book series, “Alive in Christ,” which follows a spiral curriculum. In this approach, the seven catechetical themes are presented every year in age-appropriate and developmental ways. Participation at Sunday Eucharist, along with these Faith Formation efforts, strive to nurture each family member’s relationship with Christ and his Church.
Families can choose to come on either on Sundays (at 9:30 AM) or the Wednesdays (6:30 PM) of the month. The sessions are about an 1 hour long.
Every year families need to re-register contact the Faith Formation Office for a registration form.
