We the parishioners of Saint Winifred are a community that strives to give witness to Jesus Christ and embody His presence in the daily lives of those with whom we live.  We live our faith with others through full participation in prayer rooted in the Sacred Liturgy of the Universal Roman Catholic Church.

I found out this week that BIshop Zubik has named me administrator of St. Thomas More Parish in Bethel Park.  The assignment will be effective on Monday, June 11.  While I knew this would occur with the On Mission process in October, the assignment had to be moved up because of other changed in the Diocese.  This new assignment will begin so soon was an unexpected development.  As of June 11, Fr. Mike Caridi, pastor of Saint Anne in Castle Shannon, our neighbor, will assume his duties as administrator of Saint Winifred and Saint Anne, which is the final model for us in this On Mission process.

So, my dear parish family, no tears today.  Though our time together was not as long as we had hoped for, we have done great things over these five years and we will continue to do so in this transition.  No matter where I go, you will be with me for I will carry you all in my heart and in my prayers.  You mean the world to me and I love you all so very much.  Remember, I am going to be in the neighborhood just a few miles down the road.  Words cannot fully express the blessing you have been, are and always will be with me.  As composer Stephen Schwartz wrote, "because I knew you, I have been changed for good.  You will be with me as a handprint on my heart"
